Sanna's Bag

“I never seem to have what I need when I need it. I’m going to make a belt-bag that’s bigger on the inside than on the outside, and just carry everything with me.”

A toast

Here's to Black Jack, the old cat, Gassy Jack, Jack the Ripper, my little Jackaroo. He's lounging on that sofa in the sky today, sound and healthy again, able to run and jump, see and hear and bite with all his teeth. He can snooze in the sunshine with all his cat buddies that have gone before, and they'll all play and purr with the angels till DH and I get there to cuddle them.

Let's lift our tea and coffee cups and raise a toast to departed pets.

And if you don't believe that cats go to heaven, just keep it to yourself for the time being, OK?

So sorry to hear about Jack. He sure hung in there, didn't he? Maybe he and my Newt, Casey and Winston are all having a good romp up in kitty heaven right now.

Sorry to hear about your Jackaroo. No doubt he's having fun in kitty heaven chasing yarn or butterflies or just snoozing in a nice sunny spot.

Kitty heaven is fully staffed, with suicidal mice who want to be caught. There are dust motes and paper bags and caviar on a plate. There are very sweet people, just like you and DH, who love nothing more than to sit in a sunlit room and read, petting good kitties while they purr, and who will keep Jack company until his humans arrive. He will be pissed off that you took so long, but he'll get over it.

Here's to Jack, the best, most rambunctious cat in kitty heaven. He's probably kicking the place up a notch or two--not many cats were like Jack.

Sorry 'bout your kitty, sweetheart. You've made me love him over the last three years, and now I'll miss him too.

I'm sorry, Roxie. It's been a hard month for kitties and their caretakers.

I send my condolences. I have had to bid a sad farewell to many kitties in my life. It doesn't get easier. He loved and was well-loved. One time when I lost a kitty, a few days later someone left a box of 5 kittens on my doorstep!

I can see him playing in the grass and sunshine now. Is it ok to lift a glass of wine instead?

Of course cats go to heaven. It wouldn't be heaven if they didn't!

May Black Jack be granted rest eternal, and may light perpetual shine upon him. He was a fine figure of a cat.
My theory is, cats get their choice of an appropriate heaven realm, with all the goodies Amy mentions, or they get to be reborn as they choose. Jack may be back to you in the next kitten that shows up at your door. A (human)friend once told me she wanted to be reborn as one of my cats. She hadn't met you and your felines -
I think life with you and DH probably is a more auspicious rebirth than I can provide.
    Our thoughts are with you.

If cats didn't go to heaven, they'd probably rub all over the gates until the gates were all covered with fur and St. Peter said "oh for crying out loud" and let them in. Cats are very persistent.

I'm sorry to hear about Jack. It's like losing a piece of your heart.

And the dogs only chase them for fun.

Aw. Hugs to you. Sorry about Jack.

Of COURSE cats go to heaven. How else would angels get cat hair on their robes?

Happy hunting to you, Jack. He couldn't have asked for a better family.

Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear about Jack leaving your family (for now). Hugs and scritches to everyone there and hopefully the hole he left will start to heal.
