Sanna's Bag

“I never seem to have what I need when I need it. I’m going to make a belt-bag that’s bigger on the inside than on the outside, and just carry everything with me.”

poetry warning.

August

Drought-dropped leaves in August falling

Summer was longer when I was young.

All too soon I'll hear geese calling.

Dusty warm blackberries sweet on my tongue.

Summer was longer when I was young.

Time was elastic. Days had no names.

Dusty warm blackberries sweet on my tongue.

Infinite time for my make-believe games.

Time was elastic. Days had no names

Now was all I knew or needed.

Infinfite time for my make-believe games.

Past and future quite unheeded.

Now was all I knew or needed.

Present perfect, fully savored.

Past and future quite unheeded.

Life was watermelon-flavored.

Present perfect, fully savored.

Butterfly herding was all my delight.

Past and future quite unheeded.

Day slipped simply into night.

Butterfly herding was all my delight.

Naming the colors of clouds was my calling.

Days slipped simply into nights.
I never saw the leaves start falling.
