Sanna's Bag

Late Halloweeen report

My Jack-o-lantern turned out pretty cool.  (Got the pattern off the internet.  We bought 3 boxes of full-sized candy bars, and the Oct.31st deluge kept most of the kiddies away.  We had only 42 this year.  So now we have all this candy to deal with.  As if, "Just don't eat it," were a viable alternative.  I suppose we could freeze some.  It's risky, chomping down on a frozen Snickers.  Don't think the Skittles will be happy in the freezer, though.  And no one wants a miserable Skittle.

DH is roasting a trial turkey today to get his chops back in time for Thanksgiving.  It's just a little bird  this time, and I can use left-over turkey for the ladies' tea onSaturday.

Chocolate cupcakes, orange butter cookies, turkey salad roll-ups, dried fruit (mango spears and pineapple slices) maybe oatmeal and raisin cookies,  - - am I missing anything? Ya wanna come?

Your pumpkin is adorable. Great job!! Leftover candy from my house went to the candy bowl in the DRC at the college. Someoen had brought some in to the Community center and spread it out across the tables there for students. You could dole some out at Chrysalis on /Weds.

Your jack-o-lantern turned out great! Hey...that's a good idea to practice-roast a turkey before Thanksgiving. I like that. I wish I lived close by. Your Saturday tea and knitting gatherings always look like fun!

Because our governor is on top of the important things in life, we are having Hallowe'en tonight.

I made oatmeal cookies with some lemon peel and dried blueberries. They were the best oatmeal cookies i've ever eaten. Just substitute lemon peel and dried blueberries in place of raisins. Tasty.

I was really militant about not buying candy this year. Grilltech had to work and I wasn't feeling well. Wasn't about to have any of those fat pills laying around to temp me.

What a sweet kitty-cat face on your pumpkin. We haven't had trick-or-treaters in well over 20 years due to living in the boonies, but Sandy and her mom stopped counting at 150. They gave out all of their candy, too.
